The silence, the silence almost transparent. The darkness, which is punctuated by glimpses of daylight filtering through the blue stained glass. Flickering light from oil lamps and candles, fuzzy line between light and darkness, day and night. In the Basilica of Agony, later called the Church of all Nations, all breathing the same one last night. Night that was held here Jesus in thought and prayer before you partake of "the Cup of suffering".

The primary construction of the Basilica of Agony dates back to the 4th century. First, the Byzantine Church was completely destroyed by powerful earthquake. Later, in the 12th century, the crusaders erected on the foundations of the Basilica chapel. Abandoned and forgotten this chapel remained for over 500 years. In the beginning of the 20th century, the Italian architect Antonio Barluzzi, offer the project of building a new Church on the site of the chapel. Right on the old Foundation will begin construction.

In the construction of the new base, was made one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of that time – was discovered column of the Byzantine Basilica and perfectly preserved fragment of a Byzantine mosaic. Since then, the construction was suspended, and excavations that brought about changes in the plan of the future Church. Construction of the Church was completed in 1924. The Church was named the Church of all Nations, the 12 coats of arms of States of different religions who donated funds for its construction, took its place under the dome of the new Church.

The Church of all Nations is under the jurisdiction of the Franciscan order of the Catholic Church. But the representatives of various Christian confessions (Orthodox, Protestants, Lutherans, evangelicals) all can serve on a public altar, located in the garden at the Church.
